Medical insurance

Medical expenses are very expensive in the United States. Getting a medical insurance that covers accidents, eventual illness, during the period os stay in the US is mandatory. IFAA will purchase in behalf of the participant e Medical Insurance at low cost. The maximum coverage for this medical insurance is US $150.000 (over the requirement by the US Government) and has no deductible. Besides, the farmer has the obligation to have an workman compensation insurance to cover interns of any expenses in accident related to work.

In the event of an accident or illness, IFAA staff will make sure that host farmers are providing the necessary care and assistance to interns and we will assist interns to make claims to the medical insurance.

Medical insurance DOES NOT cover expenses for pre-existing medical condition and also dental expenses, optometrist, except for dental or optometric care caused by an accident.
